When i put window in from the new construction phase the opening cut from the windows shows up in the existing phase although the windows themselves don t.
It shows the roof being cut but when i delete the cuboid the roof seals back into 1 piece.

You can cut openings in the faces of these elements or you can select the entire element to make a vertical cut.

The pick roof wall edges tool is active so that you can pick the boundaries that compose the dormer opening.
