If you are an experienced diyer and you have replaced old siding with new siding then you may be both competent and confident enough to take this on yourself. Repeat the procedure for the top of the damaged siding. Slide the zip tool along the bottom edge to release the vinyl siding from the piece below it.

The courses should overlap by at least 1 in. The diy method will most often save you money but it can take longer to complete. Be sure to nail into the existing holes on the adjacent siding.
