I never had any use of the roof rails as there is no cross rail and they cost wayy to much. Odd when i did mine i had to remove the metal pins on the cross rail clamps.

As you may be aware with your jeep the flimsy factory rack system makes it very tough to carry additional equipment. Very easy to check out remove the three dome head torx screws and slide the rail backwards off the locating lugs. Pry them apart with a flat head screwdriver and it will expose the bolts underneath to remove the rails. Take 5 minutes max.

The torx screws are not overtightened.
